Born and raised in Texas started his first career path as a welder and machinist. although metal work was solid living tattoos were always a part of life. most of the men in his family had them grandfather, dad, uncles, cousins. Even“hand poking” his fist tattoo in his early teens and building crude tattoo machines. “I used to tattoo the guys from the neighborhood sometimes some seedy characters. my dad and my brothers got early work from me. I wouldn’t be here without them.” Never thinking tattooing was an option as a career he was taken under the wing of a good friend who owned a tattoo shop. Mingo has been crafting tattoos since 2004 started from the American traditional genre of tattooing. After seeing tattoos pushing the limits of black and grey he was inspired by the movement. Spending many hours studying the black and grey realistic style and developing his technique Mingo transitioned into making black and grey his primary focus in tattooing. He strives to create not only a great piece of art , but a great experience for all his clients. When Mingo is not at the studio he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, riding motorcycles and hanging with his frenchie Mocha.
